SelectorsHub Pro — Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 24 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what data the SelectorsHub Pro Chrome Extension (“Extension”, “we”, “our”, “SELECTORSHUB TECH PRIVATE LIMITED”) collects, how it is used, stored, and shared.
1. Data We Collect
The Extension collects only the following data:
a) Authentication Information
Email address and password (used to log in to your SelectorsHub Pro subscription).
These credentials are created by you during checkout on our payment processor (Stripe) when you purchase a subscription. They are stored on our authentication server solely to verify your active subscription status when you sign in to the Extension.
b) Subscription Status
A token / flag indicating whether your subscription is active, expired, or cancelled. This is checked on login to enable Pro features.
The Extension does NOT collect:
- Browsing history
- Personally identifiable information beyond the email used for login
- Website content, URLs, page source, or DOM data
- The selectors, XPath/CSS expressions, or element data you generate or inspect
- Location, IP-based tracking, analytics, or behavioral data
- Personal communications, financial information, or health data
Page content the Extension accesses but does not collect. To generate and validate selectors, the Extension reads the DOM of the page you are actively inspecting, including shadow DOM and iframe content. This access happens only on your device, in your browser, at the moment of inspection. This page data is never transmitted to our servers, never stored on our servers, and never shared with any third party.
2. Data Stored Locally on Your Device
All generated selectors, XPath/CSS expressions, saved or favorite selectors, validation results, settings, and any other artifacts created while using SelectorsHub Pro are stored locally in your browser (using Chrome storage / IndexedDB). This data never leaves your device, is never transmitted to our servers, and is never accessible to us or any third party.
If you uninstall the Extension or clear browser data, all locally-stored selectors and settings are permanently deleted.
3. Payments
Payments are processed entirely by Stripe (https://stripe.com/privacy). We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card number, CVV, billing address, or any payment instrument data. Stripe shares only your purchase confirmation and the email associated with the subscription with us, which is then used to create your login credentials.
4. How We Use the Data
The limited authentication data we collect is used solely to:
- Verify your identity when you log in to the Extension
- Confirm an active subscription before enabling Pro features
- Send subscription-related transactional emails (renewal, expiry, password reset)
We do not use this data for advertising, marketing profiling, analytics, or any purpose unrelated to the Extension’s single purpose.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, trade, or transfer user data to third parties. We do not share user data for advertising, marketing, or any unrelated purpose.
The only third party that processes data on our behalf is:
- Stripe — for payment processing only
- Namecheap for the authentication server
We may disclose data only when legally required by a valid court order, subpoena, or government request, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
6. Data Retention
Authentication data (email + password hash) is retained for as long as your account exists. You may request deletion at any time by emailing support@selectorshub.com — we will delete your account and associated authentication data within 30 days.
Locally-stored data (selectors, settings) is under your control entirely and is deleted when you remove the Extension or clear your browser data.
7. Data Security
Authentication credentials are stored on our servers using industry-standard encryption. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. All communication between the Extension and our authentication server uses HTTPS (TLS).
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent and terminate your subscription at any time
To exercise any of these rights, email support@selectorshub.com or selectorshubpro@gmail.com.
9. Children’s Privacy
SelectorsHub Pro is intended for software testing and automation professionals. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 16.
10. Limited Use Disclosure
Our collection and use of user data adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- We limit our use of authentication data to providing and improving the Extension’s single purpose (generating and validating element selectors for test automation).
- We do not transfer user data to third parties except (i) to Stripe as necessary to process payments, (ii) to comply with applicable laws, or (iii) as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, after obtaining explicit prior consent from the user.
- We do not use or transfer user data for serving advertisements, including personalized, retargeted, or interest-based advertising.
- We do not transfer or sell user data to data brokers, advertising platforms, or other information resellers.
- We do not use or transfer user data to determine credit-worthiness or for lending purposes.
- No humans read user data, except (i) with your explicit consent for a specific issue, (ii) where necessary for security purposes such as investigating abuse, (iii) to comply with applicable law, or (iv) where the data is aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the “Last Updated” date and, where appropriate, by email to active subscribers.
