Is Claude Usage Meter free?

Yes. The extension and the desktop app are free, with no account, sign-up or API key.

Which Claude plans does it work with?

All of them: Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise. On paid plans you see session, weekly and Fable limits straight away. On the Free plan, Claude only reports usage in its replies, so the meter fills in after your first message.

When does the extra usage counter appear?

Only when extra usage is turned on for your account. On Pro and Max you turn it on yourself in Claude's Settings › Usage; on Team and Enterprise your admin does. It then shows how much you've spent beyond your plan limit this month, against your monthly limit.

What does the limit forecast do?

It measures how fast you're using your session and, if you're on pace to hit the limit before it resets, shows how long you have left (for example "~1h 20m left"). It needs about 12 minutes of activity to measure your pace, and stays hidden while you're on track.

Is my data safe?

Yes. The extension reads only the usage data Claude already shows you, inside your own browser. Nothing is sent to us or anyone else.
