Everything you need to stay under your Gemini limits

One quiet strip above the chat box, and a full breakdown one click away in the toolbar.

5-Hour & Weekly Limits

Your 5-hour and weekly Gemini usage with live reset countdowns, the same numbers as Gemini's Usage limits page.

Limit Forecast

Measures your pace and warns "~42m left" when you're on track to hit the limit before it resets.

Limit Alerts

Desktop notifications at the thresholds you choose (75%, 90%, 100% or any %), for both limits.

Chat Size In Tokens

See how big the current chat is ("~36.9K / 1M") against your plan's context window, so you know when to start fresh.

Current Mode

Shows whether you're on Fast, Thinking or Pro, so you know what's using your limit.

Fits Any Window

Choose exactly what the strip shows. When space is tight it switches to a compact view, and it follows Gemini's light or dark theme.

Toolbar Badge & Popup

Usage on the toolbar icon, and a popup with both limits, exact reset times and quick controls.

Private, Works On Every Plan

Reads only Gemini's own usage data in your browser. Works on Free, Plus, Pro and Ultra.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about Gemini limits and how the meter works.

Is Gemini Usage Meter free?

Yes, completely. No account, no API key, no paid tier.

Which Gemini plans does it work with?

Free (no plan), Google AI Plus, AI Pro and AI Ultra. Gemini refreshes your limit every 5 hours, up to a weekly cap, and the meter shows both. Workspace accounts that Gemini meters per feature see their tightest limit instead.

Where do the numbers come from?

From Gemini itself. The meter reads the same usage data that Gemini's Settings › Usage limits page uses, through your signed-in session. Chat size is an estimate counted from the conversation on the page.

What does the limit forecast do?

It measures how fast you're using your limit. If you're on pace to hit it before it resets, the strip shows how long you have left, such as "~42m left". It needs about 12 minutes of usage to measure your pace.

Is my data safe?

Yes. Chat size is counted inside your browser and never stored or sent. The extension talks only to gemini.google.com. There's no telemetry, no analytics and no remote server. The source code is public.

Which browsers are supported?

Chrome, Edge, Brave and other Chromium-based browsers.

Is this an official Google product?

No. Gemini Usage Meter is an independent, free tool built by SelectorsHub. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Google.
